EDU 579 Reading Diagnosis, Correction, &Prescription for the Classroom Teacher

An investigation into the research base ofdiagnosis and instruction. Designed to aidclassroom teachers in identifying and evaluatingreading skills, in diagnosing reading problems,and in using and prescribing varioustechniques,materials, and methods for correctiveand developmental reading. Research basedinstructional strategies are emphasized. Emphasisis on informal diagnostic procedures andcorrective techniques. Students must work withchildren in the Reading Center/Laboratory programas part of this course.
