POL 318 State and Local Government

This course introduces students to subnational governments in the United States. Topics include the impact of political ideology and culture, the functions of state constitutions, the role of political institutions, and the significance of parties and pressure groups. Specific public policies, including taxation, criminal justice, education, and health care, may also be analyzed and examined.
