BIOL 191 Introduction to Molecular & Cell Biology
Introduction to Molecular and Cell Biology (4 credits) (3 one-hour lectures, 1 three-hour laboratory weekly; fall semester). An introduction to fundamental principles that govern cellular and molecular processes and experimental approaches used for discovery in this field. We will study the major molecules that comprise cells, diversity of cell structures and functions, processes cells use to acquire energy, and the Central Dogma of molecular biology. This course is required for majors in biology, biochemistry, and medical technology. Prerequisite: None
