CRIJ 6306 Ballistics and Criminalistics
This course will be a study of using the natural sciences to analyze and interpret evidence for the purposes of reconstructing crime scenes and solving crimes. Specifically, this course will focus upon the caliber and type of firearms used in a crime as well as fingerprints found on recovered bullets which assist in the identification or links to crimes. Students will examine different types of firearms based on caliber, manufacturer, design and load, This course examines how these differences leave distinctive wound patterns and forensic evidence on victims.
