CCMF 6304 Counseling Individuals and Families

Basic Skills in Counseling Individuals and Families - This is an intensive laboratory experience to facilitate the acquisition of foundational skills essential to counseling profession. Didactic and experiential activities will provide an understanding of and skill development in basic communication and interview skills, as well as an introduction to the practice psychotherapy. Students will role play and videotape sessions. Students will review their skills and professional presentation throughout the semester. The faculty supervisor will provide on-going feedback. Students are encouraged to participate in 4-6 hours individual therapy. Fee required.
