Minors

In addition to the major field of study, students may select courses within one discipline to form a minor. A 2.0 average must be maintained in the minor. With the exception of a language minor, at least 12 credits in the minor must be taken at Franklin.

An overlap of no more than one-third of the total credits is acceptable for any combination of double major or major and minor.

  • For Minors with 18 credits no more than 6 credits may overlap with the student's declared major.
  • For Minors with 22 credits no more than 7 credits may overlap with the student's declared major.
  • For Minors with 9 credits no more than 3 credits may overlap with the student's declared major.

All six credits in a language minor above ITA 301/FRE 301/GER 301 must be taken at Franklin.

Courses unique to the minor are counted as general electives towards the degree requirement. Some courses may require prerequisites not included in the minor.
