CJ 315 Cross-Cultural Criminal Justice
Crime, justice, and retribution vary tremendously around the globe. Some cultures have meetings with parties rather than courts, and, in some, suspects merely vanish never to be seen again. This course will look at varieties of concepts of crime, wrongdoing, punishment (or lack of), and systems for dealing with these in other parts of the world, and compare some of these systems to the criminal justice system and its ideology in the United States.
