IMFG 1340 Basic Lathe

An introduction and study of common types of lathes. Emphasis on basic parts, nomenclature, lathe operations, safety, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, and theory. Identify and use of special cutting tools and support tooling, such as form tools, carbide inserts, taper attachments, follower and steady rest. Prerequisite: IMFG 1310 (0/3/3)
