Admission to the University

If official exam records or official final transcripts are not submitted prior to registering for classes, a student may be placed in remedial courses and have a hold placed on their record, preventing them from registering for future semesters.

If minimum proficiency requirements are met, a student is admitted on regular admission and has no additional coursework requirements. If minimum standards are not met, the student may be admitted on one or both of the following:

Provisional Admission

Standardized test scores (see minimum requirements), academic record or successful completion of equivalent university level coursework, may be used for establishing academic proficiency.

Required coursework to strengthen basic skills may include:

  • ENGL 100 – will count toward graduation.
  • MATH 070 – will not count toward graduation.

Probational Admission

Based upon academic preparation, applicants may be admitted on probation and have certain requirements to aid in the transition to Bethel. Students on probation will have restrictions on coursework and be required to develop an academic plan. More information may be found in the Academic Policies and Procedures section of this catalog. Required coursework to strengthen core academic skills will include:
