Payment of Accounts

Payment in full is required by the payment due date for each enrollment period. Enrollment periods include semesters, sessions, and May term. The payment due dates for the 2020-2021 academic year are:

Traditional Undergraduate

  • Fall 2020 – August 15, 2020
  • Spring 2021 – December 15, 2020
  • May Term/Summer 2021 – May 1, 2021

Adult & Graduate Studies

  • Payment in full is due by the first day of classes each session.
Payments can be made by mail, online through our third-party payment service Nelnet Campus Commerce, or in person at the University Business Office during regular business hours (M-F 8:00am-5:00pm).

Payment Plans

The university offers payment plans through our third-party vendor, Nelnet Campus Commerce, which will spread the student's out-of-pocket costs across the semester. Students utilizing a payment plan must be current with their payment plan in order to register for future courses. Payment plans may be cancelled by Nelnet or Bethel University after unsuccessful payment attempts by Nelnet have caused the payment plan to become delinquent  Each unsuccessful payment attempt will incur additional fees from Nelnet.  We no longer apply payment plan future payments to the student account so adding back is no longer needed when a student fails to make a payment plan payment.

Failure to Pay

Class registration may be invalidated and the student dropped from the university if their account is not paid in full, their payment plan becomes delinquent, or they do not have an approved exception.

Students must settle their account in full before they can:

  • Attend classes for a subsequent enrollment period
  • Register for future courses
  • Request official transcripts
  • Receive a diploma

Late Fees

Student accounts with unpaid balances after the due date, which are not enrolled in a Nelnet payment plan, will be subject to a $100 late fee.  Additional late fees may apply if the balance has not been satisfied by the end of each term.

Collection Costs

The student will be responsible for any reasonable cost of collection including, but not limited to, legal fees, collection costs, or other incidental charges.
