Certificate Outcome

Students who successfully complete the certificate in Information Technology will:

  1. possess a foundation of technical and administrative skills needed to begin a career in the area of information technology
  2. provide solutions for organizations with respect to hardware, software, communication, planning, design, implementation, and support of various technologies

Any additional information

Advanced students may earn credits for CS-180 or IT-200 courses by test-out examination. Please reference the Credit by Examination policy in the catalog. Selected Post-certificate in Information Technology (IT) courses are also available to students in an online and Web video conferencing format using our state-of-the-art technologies.

Professional Certifications for Selected IT Courses

Professional IT certifications aim to validate computer skills and knowledge, and therefore can increase a person’s marketability in the workplace. As summarized in table below, selected IT courses incorporate content specific to industry leading certifications in order to help prepare students for the required exams. IT degree seeking students are encouraged, but not required, to take the associated exam upon completion of each course.
