NUR-667 ADULT/GERONTOL ACUTE CARE I

This foundational clinical course provides opportunities to develop and implement the role of the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) by diagnosing and managing acutely/critically ill adult patients under the direction of a clinical preceptor. Evidence-based interventions for acute pathophysiological alterations common to the adult and gerontology patient populations are introduced. Content builds on previously acquired knowledge and skills of advanced health/physical assessment, advanced physiology and pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, health maintenance/disease prevention, and the domains and competencies unique to the role of the AGACNP.
