MBA-609 ACCOUNTING FOR BUSINESS

This is a survey course in accounting. The course begins with the study of accounting fundamentals, including basic bookkeeping techniques. It is followed by the study of financial accounting principles, including an examination of financial statements and concludes with the study of managerial accounting concepts and techniques. The discussion of managerial accounting includes product costing, preparation and use of budgets and use of accounting information in management decision-making, planning and performance measurement. Discussion of management decision-making will include a focus on corporate governance with an emphasis on social responsibility.
