LAW-6118 SPORTS LAW

This course examines how various areas of law apply to, first, the conduct of nonprofessional sports and, second, the relationships in the professional league sports industry. Amateur sports topics cover uniquely applied torts and criminal law, governance of nonleague sports by international and national governing bodies rules of amateurism, and governance of intercollegiate sports. For professional sports the most significant areas covered are antitrust, labor, communications and contract law.
