Bilingual Counseling Certificate - Online Program

Mission

The 15-hour Bilingual Counseling Certificate, offered completely online, has been created for mental health professionals who are interested in enhancing Spanish language proficiency, developing cultural awareness, and applying appropriate cultural counseling skills when working with Spanish speaking populations. The certificate is designed to meet the needs of a rapidly growing Spanish speaking population. This online certificate is ideal for mental health professionals (or those currently in a counseling program) from all over the nation who are looking for an opportunity to enrich their Spanish skills and knowledge.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements include all requirements of the UTRGV Graduate College plus:

  1. Current Counseling master's graduate/current counseling students who have completed 75% of their respective program.
  2. Submission of an admission essay in Spanish
  3. Admission interview which will be conducted in Spanish.
