NSG 420 Nursing in the Community
This course introduces the student to community health nursing. Assessments of the community, risk identification, and population-based healthcare are studied. Public health concepts to promote; maintain; and restore health to families, groups, populations, and communities are explored. This course also covers health education, disease prevention, assessment, and interventions for patients with varying backgrounds, cultures, needs, and expectations. This course has a clinical course fee. Prerequisite: HUM250 and NSG320, NSG325,NSG330, NSG350, NSG360 (can be co-requisite), OR HUM250 and NSG399. Lecture Hours: 30; Clinical Hours: 60.
