Professional Memberships
As part of your professional development, students are strongly encouraged to join the professional societies within your chosen career. As part of our commitment to life-long learning, you will also be required to attend professional meetings. The professional organizations you can/should join are:
Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA)
$10/year dues
Ogeechee Technical College's Student Chapter NAVTA (SCNAVTA) enables our students to experience the responsibilities that go along with being a professional organization. These include planning activities that promote veterinary technology, giving back to the community through volunteer efforts, holding an elected office, following a constitution, and setting a budget. Involvement in these activities while in school fosters the development of leaders within the profession.
The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is a non-profit association representing and promoting Veterinary Technology. Incorporated in 1981, NAVTA is the national organization devoted exclusively to developing and enhancing the profession of veterinary technology, through education, advocacy, and promotion within the industry and to the public. NAVTA is committed to education, career growth and the advancement of its members.
Ogeechee Technical College Veterinary Technology Program is committed to holding our students to a high standard of professional organization involvement. Our officers and members participate on a college, local, state, and national level.
