COM 3650 Research in Communications

This course introduces students to scholarly research methods in the field of communications. Students will learn about and practice using research methods form quantitative, qualitative, interpretive, and interventionist methodological perspectives. Students will read and be able to summarize and synthesize academic literature in a topic area of their choice. Students will analyze data provided by the instructor or collect and analyze data derived from their own original research projects. Student work will culminate in either a research proposal or IRB proposal.
