Graduate-Level Expenses Policy

Graduate students registering for undergraduate-level courses will be charged at the undergraduate per credit tuition for undergraduate courses taken as prerequisites needed for admission to the graduate program or for certification eligibility with the state.

Undergraduate students registering for graduate-level courses will be charged at the graduate per credit tuition rate for graduate courses. Dual degree students in Business, Criminal Justice, Music Therapy and Nursing, when taking 12-16 credits, will be permitted to additionally take three designated graduate-level courses (as noted in the dual degree undergraduate program requirements) as part of the undergraduate flat tuition rate. If the graduate-level course(s) brings the total registration to more than 16 credits (creating an overload situation), the student will be charged per credit at the undergraduate per credit tuition rate.

Education students in the Five-Year Bachelor's/Master's Program will be allowed to complete three designated graduate-level courses in the Spring of their junior year (Apprentice Semester) or fall of their senior year at the flat undergraduate tuition rate.

Fees are based upon the student's current division and program of study. Students who have graduated are considered graduate-level whether they are matriculated or non-matriculated.

Dual Degree Programs:

Dual degree program students in business, criminal justice, music therapy and nursing will be allowed to complete two to three designated graduate-level courses as noted in the dual degree undergraduate requirements at the undergraduate full-time flat tuition rate. The undergraduate full-time flat tuition rate applies only to the Fall and Spring terms for only the designated courses, when taking 12-16 credits.

5-Year Combined Education Degree Program (BS-MS):

During the first three years, Education students in the dual-degree, Bachelor's/Master's programs will be charged the flat undergraduate tuition rate. These students will be allowed to take up to 3 credits of designated graduate-level courses during Year 3. (Special Education: 5240 / TESOL: EDU 5252)

In the first semester of Year 4, Education in the dual-degree, Bachelor's/Master's programs will be charged the flat undergraduate tuition rate. These students will be allowed to take up to 3 credits of designated graduate-level coursework. (Special Education: 5275 / TESOL: EDU 5253)

In the second semester of Year 4, Education in the dual-degree, Bachelor's/Master's programs will be charged per credit at the applicable UG or gradate rate per credit.

In Year 5, Education in the dual-degree Bachelor's/Master's programs will be charged per credit at the applicable UG or graduate per credit rate.

The Office of the Bursar will carefully review all dual degree student accounts to ensure accurate billing.

FINANCIAL AID NOTES:

  • TAP is applicable for 4 years.
  • Students can receive UG loans for 4 years and GR loans for the 5th year.
  • Institutional Aid/Scholarships only apply when students are billed the flat UG tuition rate.
  • Financial/Institutional Aid may be discontinued if students do not follow the Education Grid progression plan.

Molloy University Honors Program students who register for up to 18 credits will be exempted from the "Each Additional Credit Over 16 Credits" charges up to 18 credits when they are charged the undergraduate flat rate tuition. This exemption for the "Each Additional Credit Over 16 Credits" charge does not apply when students are charged the per credit tuition rate (undergraduate rate and graduate rate respectively.
