CHEM 371 The Chemical Professional

This course is intended to help students develop skills critical to their success as professionals in chemical and chemically-related fields. Emphasis will be placed on effective reading and interpretation of articles in the chemical literature, oral presentation of aspects of those articles, scientific writing including proper formatting and referencing, and ethical problem-solving. Other professional activities such as development of a curriculum vitae, creation of a personal statement, and searching the scientific literature will also be covered.

Prerequisite

Complete COMM 203 or HONR 212, minimum grade C-; PIO 201; and at least 11 hours of 200-level or higher chemistry courses.
