Title IX, Education Amendments Act of 1972
Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (Title IX) prohibits sexual discrimination in federally funded educational programs or activities. Sexual harassment, which includes sexual violence, is a form of sexual discrimination. Lamar State College Port Arthur is committed to providing an environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, including discrimination based on sex. In order to address concerns related to sex discrimination on campus, Lamar State College Port Arthur has appointed Susan Cook as the Title IX Coordinator.
Students can file a report for any category of sexual misconduct including sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and sexual intimidation (cyber-stalking, indecent exposure, etc.).
Students can file a report for someone else, file a report anonymously, and file a report using a pseudonym.

Title IX Training
All new and transfer students must complete training on sexual assault and violence prevention in compliance with Title IX and the Clery Act, as well as state legislation. LSCPA has partnered with EVERFI to deliver online Sexual Assault Prevention training that complies with all federal and state regulatory requirements. The online training must be completed before or during a student's first semester or term at LSCPA. Failure to complete the training will prevent registration for future semesters.
Each new and transfer applicant will receive a link to complete their online training. The online training is approximately 2 hours in length and can be completed in multiple sessions. Students can work at their own pace from any computer, or from a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. The training course allows the student to work at their own pace and leave the course to return at a later time. When the student returns to the training session, the course will open to the page where they stopped.
LSCPA will be notified when you have successfully completed the course and you can also download a Certificate of Completion.
