This course explores the social components ofenvironmental concerns and strongly highlightsthe role of community. Specific topics includepopulation, social structures, technology, foodsystems, fuel & transportation, environmentaldisasters, environmental racism, scarcity and theenvironmental justice framework. Students applymajor theoretical perspectives from the field ofsociology to these topics.
