DSIM 604 Applied Data Visualizaation and Analysi
This course provides an introduction as well ashands-on experience to the field of datavisualization. Students learn basicvisualization design principles to createmeaningful displays of quantitative andqualitative data in order to facilitatemanagerial decision making process. Studentswill learn various techniques for visualizingtemporal, text-based, geospatial, hierarchicaldata and large data sets. Topics covered includedata selection, data cleaning, data analysis,data presentation techniques. Students willapply analysis and data visualization designprinciples to the creation of interactivebusiness dashboards and reports. Students willpresent their work in numerous formats to avariety of audiences. Students will be exposedto various visualization software toolkits.
