DSIM 410 Business Database Analysis
Prerequisites: DSIM 201, DSIM 203RI, and DSIM 370(or ACCT 370 or SPO 370). This course offers anin- depth exploration of all the principles andtechniques for managing corporate data resourcesfrom an applied perspective. The course isdesigned to provide not only a strong theoreticalfoundation, but also the technical skills requiredin analyzing, designing, implementing, managing,and utilizing information repositories. Topicscovered include database systems, database design,database schemas, database manipulation, datamining and reporting using SQL. This courseprovides significant hands-on experience usingcurrent data management techniques for businessanalytics; therefore, the strategic roles thatdata and information play in business operations,customer relationship management, businessdecision-making, and strategy development are alsodiscussed.
