DSIM 405 Advannced Statistics and Econometrics

Cross listed with ECON 405. Prerequisites: DSIM201, DSIM 203RI, ECON 201, and ECON 202. Advancedstatistics and econometrics is concerned with thecombination of economic, mathematical, andcomputer techniques in the analysis of economicand business problems such as forecasting, demandand cost analyses, model-building, and testingempirical implications of theories. This courseexpands on the statistical analysis methods fromDSIM 301. The emphasis of the course will be theapplicationof economic theory through econometricmodeling using real world data. The statisticaltopics covered include probability, descriptiveand inferential statistics, linear regression,time series methods, multiple regression, andforecasting. Credit cannot be awarded for bothDSIM 405 and ECON 405.
