NUR 587 Population Health Informatics, Epidemiology, and Evidenced Based Nursing Informatics in a Global Society

The course provides a comprehensive introduction to population health, epidemiology, outcome evaluation (including social and behavioral determinants of health), and evidence-based nursing informatics, as applied to population-based health at the global level. Learners will examine interoperable health informatics systems that enable health surveillance, reporting, promotion, prevention, and outbreak management to yield evidence and data informed decision-making. Finally, learners will create a publishable manuscript using SQUIRE Guidelines, and a professional poster presentation for dissemination of knowledge.
