NURS 495 Transitions Into Professional Practice: Senior Independent Practicum

Assists the pre-licensure student in the transition from academe to the realities of professional baccalaureate nursing practice. Students take on the role of the nurse as baccalaureate-generalist through NCLEX preparation and a 200-hour independent practicum planned in collaboration with a faculty member and an on-site supervisor. Integrates knowledge from the humanities and sciences into holistic and informed care of patients-individuals, families, groups, communities, or populations. Offered spring semester. Prerequisite: Completion of all other nursing degree requirements and attainment of WL3.
