ENGL 250B Careers in Writing
So, you like to write and have excelled in literary studies and the writing arts? Are you going to be a journalist, editor or teacher then? This class is for students who are interested in writing but don't want to limit their career options to the big three writing gigs. Students will be introduced to a variety of writing careers, and writing professionals, and will then examine how their own skills and interests intersect with these professions. Each student will conclude the class with a list of potential careers of interest, professional written documents such as resume, letter of interest and cover letter, as well as the tools to make connections with writing professionals for future internships, jobs and networking. Prerequisite: Instructors Permission
