RS 372 Women and Christianity

A historical and theological survey of the role of women in Christianity. Beginning from Christian origins, this course examines representations of women as apostles, prophets, martyrs, nuns and beguines, mystics, mothers, and wives. Special attention will be paid to theological discussions of the position of women, as well as contemporary reevaluations.
