Measurable Performance Objectives (MPOs)
Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Determine the relationship of voltage, current, and resistance in electrical circuits.
- Determine the power output of circuits by the use of Ohm's Law.
- Solve series direct current (DC) linear circuits in terms of voltage, resistance, current, and power.
- Solve parallel DC linear circuits in terms of voltage, resistance, current, and power.
- Assess voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.
- Identify resistor values by color band and measure resistor values.
- Identify resistor nominal values and tolerances.
- Determine the range of resistors by calculating the lower and upper limits from the nominal value.
- Collect voltage, current, resistance, and continuity data in a circuit.
- Evaluate and measure capacitance and inductance.
- Compute total capacitance of capacitors in a series, parallel, or series-parallel configuration.
- Compute total inductance of inductors in a series, parallel, or series-parallel configuration.
- Assemble and collect capacitance and inductance data using electrical circuit diagrams.
- Analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot aircraft electrical circuit diagrams, including solid state devices and logic functions.
- Recognize electrical wiring diagrams and symbols.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, including logic and transistors circuits.
- Inspect and service batteries.
- Demonstrate proper procedures for inspecting and servicing lead-acid and nickel-cadmium batteries.
