PHTH 8417 Management of Patients with Cardiopulmonary Disorders

This course is an integrated study of the examination, evaluation, and management of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases/dysfunctions. Students will develop a thorough understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of cardiopulmonary disease, as well as the clinical skillset to develop safe and effective physical therapy interventions using exercise testing and prescription and cardiac rehabilitation. Emphasis will be placed on integrating results from examination and diagnostic tests and measures in the prevention and management of patients with cardiopulmonary disease.
